The Hong Kong unit of Harvest Fund Management, a Chinese asset manager with $97 billion in assets, has hired Ashley Dale as its chief business development officer and chief marketing officer.
Dale joins from Mirae Asset Global Investments, a Korea-headquartered asset manager where he held an equivalent role. A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Dale held the rank of captain in the British Army before joining the funds industry and working for CLSA, GLS Capital and SG Securities.
"With our roots in China and with over 200 investment staff in China and Hong Kong, we have a real advantage when it comes to understanding, analysing and investing in the region," said Dale of his new employer.
Based in Hong Kong, Dale is tasked with developing the Harvest brand around the world to encourage inflows into Harvest's Asian funds. He will also cooperate with mainland Chinese institutions as they allocate capital to Europe.
Established in 1999, Harvest Fund Management has ten offices in China and serves eight million clients. The firm's Hong Kong subsidiary, Harvest Global Investments, was set up in 2008 and is part-owned by Deutsche Asset Wealth Management, which holds a 30% stake. Harvest has offices in London and New York.
