HSBC Global Asset Management (GAM) has made two senior appointments in Asia.
Patrice Conxicoeur has been appointed as the chief executive officer for Singapore and head of south-east Asia. He is moving from Japan where he currently services as the chief executive for HSBC GAM (Japan) K.K.
Conxicoeur is tasked with expanding HSBC GAM’s business in the region with a particular focus on Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. According to HSBC GAM, assets under distribution increased by more than 30% during Conxicoeur’s tenure in Japan.
Meanwhile, Masayuki Kaneko will replace Conxicoeur as the chief executive for HSBC GAM (Japan) K.K. He currently serves as the deputy head of global banking.
Both Conxicoeur and Masayuki will report to Pedro Bastos, chief executive for Asia Pacific at HSBC GAM. Separately, Conxicoeur will also report to Anurag Mathur, head of retail banking and wealth management in Singapore, while Masayuki will report to Edward Weeks, chief executive for HSBC Group in Japan.
