French asset manager iM Global Partner has delegated the investment management of its Oyster Japan Opportunities fund to Italian firm, Eurizon.
As part of the arrangement, the fund’s historical manager, Joël Le Saux, and analyst, Yoko Otsuka, have joined Eurizon’s equities teams.
The two have managed the fund since its launch in 2013 by Swiss firm SYZ Asset Management and it now has more than US$380 million of assets under management.
SYZ was acquired by iM Global earlier this year and the decision to delegate followed a strategic review of the range.
"When we acquired the Oyster range, the quality of the management of the Japanese equity team made a strong impression on us,” said Philippe Couvrecelle, chief executive at iM Global Partner.
“This partnership with Eurizon, a leading player in asset management, allows us to give new momentum to the international development of this investment strategy.”
