Investec bolsters Asia EM team

/Emerging_marketsSouth Africa-based Investec Asset Management has added to its Asian and emerging market equity team by appointing Nidhi Mahurkar as an investment director. Mahurkar will have a specific responsibility for Asia, China and EM sectors within Investec’s 4Factor Equity investment team. She joins from Pictet Asset Management where she was co-head of its global emerging market equities team which includes a number of Asia-focused funds. Prior to her role at Pictet, Mahurkar was a member of the global emerging markets team at Lazard where she ran the Birla India investment trust. She will report to Greg Kuhnert, portfolio manager of the Investec All China and Asian Equity strategies. “Nidhi’s extensive expertise and deep knowledge of investing in Asia and emerging markets is ideally suited to further developing our investment capabilities in this area,” said Kuhnert. ©2018 funds global asia
