Law firm bets on Asia’s appetite for Italian

Law firmLaw firm Simmons & Simmons has set up an Italian desk in Asia to serve clients involved in cross-border transactions. The desk will supply advice on key sectors including asset management and investment funds. “The Italian desk in Asia will serve clients on both inbound and outbound investments across our offices in Milan, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore,” said Dario Spinella, a Milan-based partner who will serve as head of the desk. “As we see further growth opportunities in this space, we believe that this new step will increase business opportunities in the booming Asian market.” Simmons & Simmons recently advised on a deal by Gangsu Gangtai Holding, a Chinese conglomerate, to acquire Italian jeweller Buccellati, which was valued at €230 million ($270 million). ©2018 funds global asia
