Yu-Ming Wang, previously global CIO and deputy president at Nikko Asset Management, has joined Matthews Asia in San Francisco.
He becomes president and global CIO of the firm in a newly created role, taking lead of the firm's investment team and becoming a member on the executive committee.
Wang has managed investment teams in the Asia Pacific region for the past 12 years.
Matthews Asia said he has significant experience providing senior leadership to global investment teams, building Asian investment businesses—including in China—and developing strong institutional client relationships in Asia Pacific.
Robert Horrocks will continue in his role as chief investment officer and portfolio manager, with no changes to his day-to-day responsibilities.
