Northern Trust hires quant chief in Australia

SydneyNorthern Trust Asset Management has hired Scott Bennett in the newly created role of head of quantitative research for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Bennett joins from Russell Investments, where he was a director of equity strategy and research. “Across the region, we continue to see increasing investor demand for, and adoption of our quantitative investment strategies,” said Bert Rebelo, head of Northern Trust Asset Management for Australia and New Zealand. A graduate of the Australian School of Business, Bennett’s research on quantitative strategies and active management has been published in several academic journals.
