Global custodian, State Street, has expanded its executive team in Greater China by appointing heads for its Hong Kong and Taiwan businesses.
Pauline Wong has been named as head of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong) while Ilona Chen has been appointed as head of Taiwan. The appointments are effective immediately, State Street said in a statement.
Wong and Chen will be based in Hong Kong and Taipei respectively.
Both appointees will report to Mostapha Tahiri, chief executive for Asia Pacific and will be responsible for managing relationships with local regulators and government officials and developing talent in their respective markets.
Wong joined State Street in 2011 and most recently served as the firm’s Asia Pacific lead for its client program office. Wong brings more than two decades of financial services experience to the role.
Chen joined State Street in 1993 and helped set up its asset servicing business in Taipei in 1995. She most recent role was as head of institutional services for Greater China.
