Tabula launches Asia high yield corporate bond ETF in Europe

ETF diceFixed income ETF provider Tabula Asset Management has launched what it claims is the Europe’s first Ucits ETF to track Asia’s high yield corporate bond market. The Asia ex-Japan High Yield Corporate USD Bond ESG Ucits ETF was developed in partnership with China-based Haitong International Asset Management. It will be listed on the London Stock Exchange and is classified as an Article 8 fund under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). It tracks an index newly developed by Tabula, Haitong and IHS Markit. According to Tabula chief executive, Michael John Lytle, the partnership with Haitong will provide the local expertise necessary to capitalise on the growing investor interest in the asset class. “While the opportunity in Asian high yield is clear, there are also some challenges to address,” said Lytle. “With high yield issuers, there can be greater concerns about ESG, particularly governance, and liquidity is also a consideration. Local expertise can significantly improve trading efficiency.” © 2021 funds global asia
