Value Partners launches China-focused fund

Great_Hall_of_the_PeopleValue Partners has launched its first All China Equity Fund in response to increased demand from European investors targeting a China only solution. The fund is made up of onshore and offshore China holdings. It will be benchmarked against the MSCI China All Shares Index. “We’ve seen an increase in demand from investors in the UK and Europe for a China only solution and so are responding to their requirements,” said Hendrik von Ripperda-Cosyn, head of business development for EMEA. Assets from the Value Partners Greater China Equity Fund, which will close, will be moved into the All China Equity Fund, the firm said in a statement. The Hong Kong-based asset manager’s new strategy will be managed by Man Wing Chung, an investment director at the firm. “We are confident about the long term economic and corporate development in China and we’re looking at several themes such as consumption, innovation and traditional businesses which we feel are both sustainable and consistently present interesting opportunities for institutional investors,” said Chung. ©2019 funds global asia
