Investors in Asia Pacific have become the main source of capital in the non-listed real estate market, according to recently published industry research.
The capital raising survey produced by the Asian Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (Anrev) showed that Asian investors now account for more than a third (35%) of global capital in the sector, having invested US$54.8 billion.
This also makes them the biggest source of capital, just ahead of US investors.
The results come amid a drop in the overall investment sector - $264 billion was raised in 2022, an 8% drop year-on-year compared to 2021. Yet the amount invested by Apac investors rose by 6%.
The survey canvassed 116 fund managers from 21 countries across the globe.
