A consortium comprising a Singapore-based private equity firm, a Wall Street asset manager and a sovereign wealth fund have come together to invest in Japan’s property market.
SC Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) have acquired a property portfolio including 27 Japanese hotels.
The portfolio was bought from Daiwa House Industry, a Japanese property developer, for US$900 million. The properties will be managed by Japan Hotel REIT Advisors Co.
While SC Capital Partners has not worked with Goldman Sachs Asset Management before, it has previously worked with ADIA on a data centre investment programme in 2022.
