US asset manager Franklin Templeton has opened a contact office in Korea to support its work as the external investment manager for the National Pension Service of Korea.
The office, which is located in Jeonju, was originally announced in January.
It will serve as a contact office that will perform a liaison function for NPS-related work such as market research and analysis.
According to Franklin Templeton Korea’s president and CEO Tay Kim, the office opening also reflects the “strong growth potential” in Korea.
The arrangement with the NPS has been in place since 2001, and Franklin Templeton has had a presence in Korea since 1997.
