Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has named Andrew Loong as managing director and head of digital assets.
He replaces Andrew Walton, who will leave the exchange in July after less than a year in the role.
Loong will be expected to oversee the development of the digital assets ecosystem in HKEX’s markets, including digital product offerings and building digital infrastructure, according to the exchange.
He reports to Glenda So, group head of emerging business and FIC, who was only appointed in February 2023 following a senior management reshuffle.
Loong has held a number of roles in the digital assets space and was most recently in charge of digital assets development at a family office based in Singapore.
