Fintech firm Milestone Group has made its pControl Institutional Asset Allocation product available in Asia Pacific in a bid to bring more automation to the process.
The cloud-based managed service is aimed at institutional asset allocators in the region including Australian superannuation funds, sovereign pension funds and wealth managers.
It allows for the automation of investment modelling and execution across multiple asset classes.
According to Milestone, the product launch is a reaction to the increased trend for pension funds and other institutions to insource the investment process.
However, this remains a fragmented and mostly manual process. A survey conducted by Milestone in Q3 2020 found that most institutional investors lack the technology to adopt more advanced strategies, particularly among fund of funds which 82% of the 47 institutional investors surveyed said were increasingly complex.
“We know APAC asset allocators face continued return and cost pressure, highlighting the importance of driving investment returns by being able to deploy effective real time dynamic asset allocation decision making,” said Marian Azer, Milestone’s managing director for APAC.
