Australian alternatives fund manager New Forests is set to add to its portfolio forestry funds with its latest fund launch.
The Australia New Zealand Landscapes and Forestry Fund (ANZLAFF) will be targeted at institutional investors and aims to raise A$600 million (US$42 million) over the next two to three years.
The launch comes on the back of three previous funds focused on the same area, which have collectively raised $3.13 billion.
The fund will aim to provide exposure to integrated forest, land and agriculture markets in Australia and New Zealand.
“Australia and New Zealand are well-established destinations for institutional investors seeking to build a diversified core forestry, land-based investment portfolio, in stable, low sovereign risk locations with close access to export markets across Asia,” said Mark Rogers, senior managing director, Australia, New Zealand and the United States at New Forests.
