Northern Trust has hired Conlon Chen as the head of operations for its global fund services business in Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, Chen will oversee Northern Trust’s middle-office outsourcing solutions and fund administration business across the region. Chen has more than 25 years of experience in financial services.
He will report to Caroline Higgins, head of global funds services for Asia at Northern Trust. “Northern Trust’s business in Asia is growing rapidly and we are seeing an increased demand for tailored fund administration and middle-office outsourcing solutions,” said Higgins.
Chen was previously the head of operations at Maples Fund Services. He has also served in various senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank, State Street Bank & Trust Company and RBC Investor & Treasury Services.
As of December 31, 2018, Northern Trust said it had assets under administration of $10.1 trillion, and $1.1 trillion of assets under management.
