Navneet Munot, managing director and chief executive of HDFC Asset Management, has been elected chairman of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
He takes over from A Balasubramanian, chief executive of Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management.
The election took place at the association’s AGM held in September, during which Anthony Heredia, managing director and chief executive of Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund, was elected as vice-chairman.
A chartered accountant, Munot has over three decades of experience in India’s funds industry. In a statement, he said he was looking forward to “continuing the strong legacy and building on the AMFO 2.0 strategy that has been outlined to strengthen AMFI”.
