US-based global custodian State Street has appointed Arindam Banerrji as its country head in India.
Based in Bengaluru, he will be responsible for leading the firm’s operations in the country.
Banerrji joins from Well Fargo, where he was executive vice president and managing director for their operating centres in India and the Philippines.
Banerrji will report to Lou Maiuri, president, chief operating officer and head of investment services.
State Street currently has five offices across India – in Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Vijayawada – and was one of the first global custodians to look to India as a place centre for its operational outsourcing and various processing roles. It opened its first India office in 2004.
“India has been an epicentre for our delivery operations for nearly two decades and will continue to play an important role in supporting our clients globally,” said Maiuri.
